Byredo Bal d'Afrique Absolu is a confirmed 2025 Absolu Collection high-concentration reissue of the 2009 Bal d'Afrique, by Jerome Epinette, marketed unisex, ~$280/50ml. Its pyramid (blackcurrant/bergamot/lemon; praline/musk/violet; black amber/cedarwood/vetiver) is sweeter and denser than the EDP due to a pronounced gourmand praline note. Because it is brand-new there is little deep grassroots consensus on clones yet; the strongest correctly-targeted match is Dua's Paris 1920 Absolu (the most-discussed, with Fragrantica/Parfumo entries and a YouTube budget-alternative comparison), formulated for the Absolu rather than the original. Vendor-only or aggregator-only 'dupes' (Perfume Parlour Afrique Absolu, FragBar's inspired-by oil) were excluded on re-verification as not meeting the community-vetted bar, and clones of the ORIGINAL Bal d'Afrique (Alexandria Africano, Dossier Ambery Vetiver) were excluded because the community does not equate them with the sweeter, praline-forward Absolu.
