Coromandel is Chanel's rich amber-woody-oriental built on dark patchouli and orris over a resinous benzoin/incense/olibanum base, sweetened by a signature white-chocolate accent, bitter-orange opening and soft musk. It exists in three concentrations - EDT, EDP and this boutique-exclusive Parfum (Extrait) interpretation - and Chanel notes the Extrait and EDP are distinct olfactory reads of a shared signature. Crucially, essentially all established community dupe consensus targets the EDP / original Coromandel, NOT the Parfum specifically; there is no meaningful Parfum-specific clone discussion. The two clones repeatedly cited across communities are Alexandria Fragrances 'China Affair' (explicitly labeled inspired by Coromandel EDP) and Dua Fragrances 'Sophisticated' (inspired by the vintage Coromandel). Both are respected renditions of the Coromandel DNA but are commonly described as sweeter/heavier with a harsher citrus opening and more pronounced rose, frankincense and white chocolate than the refined Chanel - and neither is pitched at the denser, more resinous Extrait. Reported as EDP-oriented dupes with an explicit concentration caveat; confidence is moderate because of that mismatch.
