Oud for Happiness (Initio Parfums Prives, 2021) is a woody-spicy unisex fragrance built on a distinctive licorice-and-oud accord: a bright bergamot/ginger opening leads into an anise-like licorice heart wrapped around agarwood and cedar, drying down sweet and creamy on vanilla, herbal notes and musk. That licorice-oud signature is unusual and instantly recognizable, so dupes tend to be judged on how well they nail it. Clone consensus is real but thinner than for Initio's more famous Oud for Greatness, because Oud for Happiness is a more niche release. The most consistently cited alternatives are The Dua Brand's Mesmerize (their official inspired-by version, generally regarded as the closest and most complex match), French Avenue / Fragrance World's Happiness Oud (the accessible budget pick, an extrait that captures the sparkly licorice opening well but drifts greener/more vanillic in the drydown with slightly less staying power than the original), and Alexandria Fragrances' Happiest Aoud (a well-regarded extrait interpretation).
