Not A Perfume (Juliette Has A Gun, 2010) is a real, well-known release built on essentially a single molecule, Cetalox (a.k.a. Ambroxan) — a transparent, skin-like amber/musk. Because it is a one-material composition, 'cloning' it is trivial in principle, but that also means there is no deep, years-old community consensus around specific branded dupes the way there is for complex designer scents; advice frequently just points to 'buy any good Ambroxan/Cetalox-centric scent.' The two most credible purpose-built clones are both declared by their own makers as takes on Not A Perfume and are independently corroborated: DUA #NoPerfume (single-note Cetalox extrait, the closest 1:1) and Dossier Musky Musk (Cetalox-centered but layered with Iso E Super and Habanolide, slightly more nuanced and softer in performance). Alt Fragrances 'Simply Another' was evaluated and DROPPED: only one listicle (Osmoz) paired it to Not A Perfume, while Alt's own product copy lists it as inspired by Le Labo Another 13 and its pyramid (pear/jasmine/woods) is more complex than pure Cetalox — a mispairing the name-only check can't catch. Gender is unisex (JHAG markets it as shared). Prices are low; the original itself is a subtle, close-to-skin scent, so differences between dupes and original are modest.
